History
TiNOX GmbH was founded in
1994 as a spinoff of the Ludwig Maximillian University of Munich.
A year later, TiNOX began selling the world's first highly selective blue absorber.
In the solar thermal sector, the company's name has since become a synonym for these absorbers.

In
2003, TiNOX GmbH was integrated in the global conglomerate
MAGE Industrie Holding AG of Reutlingen, Germany.
In
2008, the firm put its subsidiary into the
joint venture with Almeco and Almeco-TiNOX was founded.
The joint venture has its headquarters in the
high-tech city of Munich and also has production sites in
Bernburg (Saxony-Anhalt) and
Munich.
