Energy Solar Absorber Surfaces
TiNOX classic, TiNOX artline and Vega AB127 are the different absorber materials of the Almeco-TiNOX product range. The coating is available on copper (TiNOX classic, TiNOX artline) and on aluminium Vega AB127 substrates.
Coating Structure
The multi-layer structure of the Almeco-TiNOX coatings is designed to serve as a highly selective absorber surface, which is optimised to transform nearly all incoming solar radiation into heat and to prevent the heat generated from being lost as infra-red radiation as in the case of a black coating. Over 90% of the incoming solar radiation energy can be used as heat. The Almeco-TiNOX coatings are available on copper and aluminium substrates. In order to ensure a low emission in the far infrared wavelength, the aluminium substrate carries an additional reflective layer for that wavelength range, not necessary on copper.
A thin bonding layer serves as an adhesion layer and diffusion barrier. In the complex absorber layer the solar radiation is being transformed into heat.
Additionally an anti-reflection and protective layer made of quartz glass is deposited on the absorber layer.
The ALMECO-TiNOX solar absorber range provides customers with the choice of a traditional copper substrate absorber sheet for ease and flexibility of manufacture, or a specially treated aluminium substrate for more economical installations combined with light weight.
Both products give excellent thermal characteristics and durability and are subject to an ongoing product development and optimisation programme.
The efficiency of any solar absorber depends on its ability to transform sunlight into heat. High absorption of solar radiation is a basic condition and can be achieved quite easily. The challenge is to capture the solar energy inside the material.
The principle of highly selective absorbers
high absorption (= low reflection) in the range of the
solar radiation (mainly visible light)
low emission (= high reflection) in the range of
heat radiation (infrared radiation)
The components of the ALMECO -TiNOX layer are harmless for the human organism and for the environment.
